A new business venture, a new health regime

January 21, 2012

The year is well underway. They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit, and today is the 21st day of 2012. Have you formed any new habits?

In September of last year, I heard about a company called BodHD for the first time. I looked at it, and thought to myself…. another health and wellness MLM. Whoopie! There are SO MANY of them! Back in the 1980’s, I was an Herbalife rep. I have sold Shaklee, complete with its nutritional line. In the late 1990’s, I had a small bit of success with a supplement called Restores. A couple of years ago, I was involved with It Works! There have probably been more in there also. However, I never really made any money at any of them, and ended up with lots of product due to autoships.

And besides, a shake is a shake is a shake, right? Read more…

Harbingers of Change

December 30, 2011

Today I was walking home from a local coffee shop, and I was walking by about a quarter of a mile of store fronts. I couldn’t help but notice that most of them were vacant. In fact, there were more vacant store fronts than occupied. Those that were occupied were doing their best to capture the attention of anyone who even remotely looked in their direction.

I know that this shopping plaza is not the only one with such high vacancy rates, and I am left with an array of feelings. Read more…

Be Who You Are and Use Your Voice

December 12, 2011

Confession time. I have not been totally honest. I have been withholding some of my most fervently-held beliefs from others for fear of being judged, put down, and persecuted by those who do not really understand me.

I did it as a form of self-protection. Why would I expose myself to someone else’s inconsiderate judgements unnecessarily, especially since I know that I have little to offer that would change their minds.

I recently read a book called The God Virus, by Darrel Ray, and I learned from that book that any attempts I make to defend my position against those who have a “religious perspective” would be met with more vehement opposition. Sad, really.

But I am tired of living half a life. I am tired of living without screaming my most fervent message from the highest hills. Oh, I do share it, in safe little quotes and links to articles, but the truth is, THIS IS WHO I AM! Read more…

Changing it Up

November 27, 2011

Most of my life consists of marketing and performing my coaching and consulting services, working with Jeff Fagin and doing tasks for him, and building my book of business in the Global Information Network. All three activities are focused on and centered around Success Strategies. To that end, I attend quite a few workshops so I can stay fresh and on the cutting edge of Success. Luckily, as a member of the Global Information Network, I have access to all sorts of success training.

This weekend, however, was a bit different. Read more…

The Missing Pieces

October 16, 2011

Do you ever feel like you are missing something? Do you feel as though there is something you should know, you need to know, in order to be more successful? Do you feel as though you know that you know it, but it just doesn’t quite come to you?

I know I have felt that way, and I also know others, both friends and clients, who have expressed the same thing to me.

I have had times in my life when I just felt stuck because I couldn’t put my finger on that one missing link to the answer I needed. In fact, a friend of mine calls it “cracking the code.”

I have discovered that it’s not really a code. It’s not really something that is “out there” that needs to be learned. It is something we already HAVE, but have stored it in a remote place in consciousness for various reasons, usually fear-based. Read more…

YOU are a Super-Hero!

September 20, 2011

I happened across a new book recently. It is called The Seven Spiritual Laws of Super-Heroes, and it is written by Deepak Chopra, with his son, Gotham Chopra. Having owned a comic book store, and having been planning my own book about some of the great value to be found in comic book heroes, I was curious and had to have a copy.

Moving on

August 6, 2011

It’s been quite a busy summer as we regroup and continue. Comic Zone is gone, but we have retained a presence in the Thrive! Community Center in downtown Phoenix. Actually, I shouldn’t say “we” because we collectively decided to sell the rest of the comics to Grandpa’s Treasures, LLC, which is actually Avery’s company. So, Avery is left with the rest of our stock, and he is working with the founders of the community center. Just a few doors down from the community center is an antique shop that accepts items on consignment, so he also has some of his items listed there on consignment.

In addition to all of that, we have both been working on building our success business. We have some amazing tools that can help anyone to grow their resources – tools that folks can use to get their own mindset in order, and tools that can be used to literally grow your wealth. The times are very exciting as we take our own practice to whole new levels! Read more…

Control your thoughts

June 27, 2011

More and more, it is becoming clear to me that the way to really change your life is to get control of your thoughts. More easily said than done, eh? And yet, the techniques to do so are ridiculously simple. What does it take?

It takes dedication, focus, discipline, and perseverance. And most importantly, it takes a decision… a decision to do the work.

And what IS the work? Read more…
