Changing it Up
Most of my life consists of marketing and performing my coaching and consulting services, working with Jeff Fagin and doing tasks for him, and building my book of business in the Global Information Network. All three activities are focused on and centered around Success Strategies. To that end, I attend quite a few workshops so I can stay fresh and on the cutting edge of Success. Luckily, as a member of the Global Information Network, I have access to all sorts of success training.
This weekend, however, was a bit different. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I had a chance to spend some time with my two sons, which was delightful. We just don’t get to hang out as much these days since we don’t have Comic Zone anymore. I appreciate social media as a way of staying in touch with them, but there’s nothing like face-to-face contact and hugs.
Friday was typically busy, although I was working on a few different things. For example, I have been working on continuing education credits for my real estate license. This weekend was devoted to that. I’ve really enjoyed the review, and even though I am not currently an active agent, it’s nice to keep my fingers in that pie.
The most important thing I did this weekend, however, was to clean the garage! It is so rewarding. We are far from done, but the difference is already quite noticeable. We had a big yard sale today and did okay at it. Lots of work, but a different kind of work than I am accustomed to doing.
And finally, tomorrow I am Toastmaster of our local CHATS Toastmaster‘s meeting, so I spent several hours preparing for that. Again, something different than usual.
As a result, even though I worked a lot this past four-day weekend, and I was very productive, I feel as though I had a four day rest.
Changing it up makes such a difference in maintaining a fresh outlook on your day-to-day activities.
