2012
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’ve been listening to folks talk about 2012 for three or four decades now. This morning, I heard another person talk about 2012, and this one made the most sense of all. Michelle Karen is an astrologer, and she has also done a great deal of research about the Mayan Calendar, and she happened to be talking to the Metaphysical Group in Surprise where my business partner, Linda Simpson, and I are scheduled to talk in two weeks. Michelle said that 2012 is all about CHOICE! Read more…
The Value of Customer Service
Many times, my partner and I have eaten at Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion in Scottsdale. The experience has always been a memorable, delectable taste delight, which has kept us coming back. So, last night, after a few hours of sitting outside on the lawn of the new Sage court concert venue at the Marriott Hotel at Desert Ridge, listening to the Chicks-with-Picks Chick-stock concert, we noticed that there was a Roy’s Restaurant inside. Treasure of the Hearth
Recently I attended a lecture sponsored by the Phoenix Friends of C.G. Jung, and given by Stephen Gerringer of the Joseph Campbell Foundation. It was a fascinating talk, and I am sure I will find material from it to use for a long time to come, but in this post, I am referring to one of Gerringer’s final stories…. Read more…
Extraordinary Leadership
Every coach should have a coach and/or a mentor. I am lucky to have two great coaches that I work with on a regular basis, not to mention the excellent peer group I have. It keeps me grounded, on track, and ever growing. As a result, I have that much more to give to my clients and students. No matter how much work anyone has done, there is always more to do, a new discovery to make, a new perspective to consider, and more into which one can expand. Read more…
Comic Books for the Better Good
It’s been awhile since I posted. I’ve been focused on the comic book store, for the most part. We now have a presence at the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Phoenix, and Friday, Feb. 5th, found us out in front of our friend’s shop – Of the Earth Cafe – peddling our books. It is such fun to be downtown on First Friday. There are so many people and everyone is so unique. We sit in a small area of vendors who peddle anything from Tarot card readings to really funky homemade pins, not to mention the artsy clothing styles in the shop behind us. I love sitting amidst the creativity all around us. Read more…
The world is waiting for you!
Our talk with the 3000 Club Networking group went wonderfully! We were well received and we now have many referrals for other speaking opportunities. We are going to be two busy Lindas. 🙂
Goes to show that doing the work of your heart is rewarding in more ways than one.
What have YOU done for your heart today? The world is waiting for you.

Haiti
What does the history of Haiti and I have in common? Well, it appears that I was born on the anniversary of the earthquake which destroyed the Sans-Souci Palace on May 7, 1842. Haiti has a history of earthquakes, of which this was just one, but the one that is foremost in my thoughts and heart is the one that occurred just days ago on January 12, 2010 which has a death toll so far of over 200,000 people and has ravaged much of the infrastructure of Port-au-Prince.
Haiti is one of the poorest nations in the world, and the destruction is undeniably disastrous. The neighboring Dominican Republic was the first to give aid to the injured and the survivors of Haiti, putting aside the tensions that existed between the two nations. But the Dominican Republic also has limited resources, and there is great need in Haiti at this time to lend a hand.
I have been amazed at the response I have witnessed to this unfortunate event. Over and over, I see appeals for help from many different sources. Right away, we were informed about how we could donate directly to the Red Cross by text messaging 90999 on our cell phones. Royal Caribbean International is right in Port-Au-Prince helping out. Today, when I made a payment through eBay, I was given the opportunity to make a donation to Doctors Without Borders as I checked out. I, myself, have contributed through a few different channels, including the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund. Many organizations and special interest groups have donation pages available.
I heard today that the BBC reported that $200 million had been pledged by various foreign governments for aid and relief, and yet, that’s a fraction of the over $600 billion that has already been spent on the war in Iraq. We pay so much for what I believe is needless destruction. Can we come forth in a true humanitarian effort for our fellow human beings?
It really helps us to put things into perspective, doesn’t it? Anyone reading this is doing so at a computer keyboard. We have SO much. And over 3 million people have nothing, not to mention the thousands upon thousands who have lost their lives. I would like to think that we, as worldwide citizens, can rally round this cause and prove that we are part of a greater global community, with compassion and caring for those struck by such need as this.
If you haven’t yet done so, give what you can to help these folks.
