Do you know that you are loved?

June 14, 2010

I was reading my niece’s postings earlier today on a website called formspring. It’s a page that allows people to ask questions – any questions – and she answers. Someone had asked her if she knew how much she is loved. She answered yes, and how much she appreciates it.

Just this morning, I was thinking about how lucky I am to know that I am loved. Perhaps it was my upbringing that has instilled this feeling in me so strongly or perhaps it’s been my strong spirituality, or maybe both. In any case, I never have a doubt that I am loved. Read more…

Power Source

June 5, 2010

How much time do you spend connecting to your personal power?

The other day, the power adaptor to my MacBook Pro broke, and I was without access to my computer for about 15 hours. Luckily, it wasn’t too bad, as I was running a book club that night and wouldn’t have been online anyway. But the next morning, I was determined to solve my challenge and get myself another adaptor.

Now, it’s not like I didn’t TRY to prepare for such a situation. I had two adaptors for the past couple of years, but a few months ago, one of the two stopped working. So, I ordered another one on eBay, but when I finally got it, it fell apart in my hand. I have been working with eBay to get my money refunded, since the seller hasn’t followed through on what he promised. Then this! Read more…

Books, books, books!

June 1, 2010

I recently heard that all leaders are voracious readers. I have always been a voracious reader, but today I was realizing how very many books I am reading at once!

I have books everywhere in the house and when I am at that particular spot, I read that particular book. In the living room, where I usually do my Memoir writing, I am reading Write Your Memoir, by Dr. Allan Hunter. Right next to that are Little Voice Mastery, by Blair Singer, and The Right to Write by Julia Cameron.

On those days when I allow myself the luxury of a hot bath, I usually take a book with me. I am currently working on The Confident Creative by Cat Bennett, and re-reading Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl. Read more…

Inter-relationships

May 24, 2010

Many people ask me how I do all that I do. Apparently, people perceive that I do a lot. What they may not see is how everything I do is inter-related, and each part of my life supports the other parts, so it doesn’t really feel like I am doing so many different things. It feels to me that I am spending a lot of time building a most marvelous creation that encompasses all of the parts. It takes time and energy to build a foundation, a structure, a framework that is large enough to hold it all; however, the energy comes from doing it. The rest has to do with being in the flow. A Matter of Perception

May 11, 2010

I celebrated the fifty-fifth anniversary of my birth last Friday.

And tonight, I got my first discount for being over 55 years old.

Yikes! How did that happen? It amazes me that somehow all of those years slipped away. I certainly don’t FEEL like I am 55 years old! Well, when my knees hurt, or when my memory isn’t as sharp as it was, or when I can’t clearly see what I am reading, I am reminded that I am no longer a teenager, but I still don’t feel anywhere near 55.

Trusting the Process

April 29, 2010

Hello, my name is Linda, and I am an entrepreneur!

Entrepreneurs are perpetually creative, and recently, Life has brought me two new adventures.

The first is SendOut Cards. A friend of mine calls SendOut Cards the Million Dollar Response System, and I can see why! SendOut Cards are amazing! You can try them out yourself here. I’ve been using them for the past year as a retail client, and I love them. I finally decided to go for it and become a distributor. No sooner had I made the decision than I discovered two new ways I can use them. Read more…

My Cats Are My Teachers

April 19, 2010

I have three cats. Two of them are brothers from the same litter. I have had them since they were about eight weeks old. In August, they will be seven years old. Their names are Zeke and Charlie. As you can see by these pictures, they look a LOT alike! Read more…

Unforeseen Blessings

April 8, 2010

I had a hair appointment with my hairdresser in Cordes Junction today. How I came to have a hairdresser almost a hundred miles away is another story, not really relevant to this one.

I was thinking I would leave around 10 am for my 11:30 appointment, but for some reason, I didn’t. I left about 10-15 minutes later. As I was getting into my car, I thought, “I should put coolant in the radiator. It’s been running hot lately.” But I didn’t because I was running late. And off I went. Read more…

The Redeeming Value of Comic Books

April 5, 2010

Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman!

As the owner of Comic Zone, the only comic book store in Scottsdale, I can tell you with utmost confidence that comic books are not just for kids anymore. Today, I am going to tell you about the value of comic book characters. By exploring the archetypes of three popular comic book heroes, I will show you how they have made a difference in the values and morality of our society.

Carl Jung, a pioneer in the field of psychology, focused on the psychoanalytic features of the archetype. He defined an archetype as “a universal and recurring image, pattern, or motif representing a typical human experience.” Archetypes are patterns and behaviors; primordial images which are part of our psyche and social systems.
