I am love

October 12, 2010

Last night I couldn’t sleep, and when that happens, I usually listen to some hypnotherapy programs on my iPod, which inevitably have me in dreamland in no time. Last night, however, they didn’t, and so after a while, I switched to music. I had a playlist of healing new age music which I thought would soothe me, and so I put that on. But suddenly, a voice I didn’t recognize came on singing a song called, “I am Love,” and I found myself intently taking in the lyrics and feeling them in the depth of my soul.

Here are the lyrics:

A summer night by the sea
The wind was dancing with the trees
I felt an angel take my hand
We walked in moonlight on the sand
And she said…

All the beauty that you see
Is part of a maze of memories
That begins within your heart
They’re castaways of time and space
Looking in there’s not a place too far
To find the love that echoes who you are
You are love

In the moment she was gone
A shooting star awoke the dawn
Colored ribbons filled the sky
I knew her words opened my eyes
And she said…

All the beauty that you see
Is part of a maze of memories
That begins within your heart
They’re castaways of time and space
Looking in there’s not a place too far
To find the love that echoes who you are
You are love
I Am Love
We are Love

All the beauty…

The name of the singer/songwriter is Shawn Gallaway and I had bought the CD last year at the Celebrate Your Life conference. I don’t know when I added it to this playlist, but it took me totally by surprise. In my drowsy, altered state, I felt every word inside of me, and I fell in love with all that is. It was such a wonderful state to be in. Soon after, I fell asleep, hugging the awareness of the love that is all around us, the love of which we are made, and vowing that I would find it in the world during the day.

And I did! I awoke to the sweet sound of birds greeting the day, and the soft caress of the cool morning breeze on my face. As I went about my day, I noticed little things, like the blooms on the plants, and the hint of coolness in the air. Deep inside of me I felt buoyed.

Sometimes that’s all it takes – a shift in perspective. A friend of mine gave me a gift of an exclusive, hand-decorated umbrella that she made, for no apparent reason at all. I unexpectedly ran into a former client who gave me some ideas for a new business venture. I ran an exceptionally beautiful and meaningful blessing rite this evening.

When we experience life from a higher vibration, magic happens.
